Happy Birthday Alex! Yikes, 13!

Man, I am now officially a parent of a teenager. Please, please pray for me! lol I'm not really even old enough to have a teenager, I'm only like 26 myself. (something like that anyway). Alex is big into pretty much anything Lego. So most of his presents were legos. Star Wars Legos, Castle Legos, and Bionicle Legos. Should keep him busy at least for a couple days. He also got a cool remote control helicopter, that you can see in the picture. Baby sister Anna was scared of it though. She starts bawling every time it starts to fly. Guess he'll have to fly it far away from her. Oh, Joseph wanted me to write that the Bionicle box was a trick. Joseph wrapped up some candy for Alex in the box to trick him. It worked. Alex thought it was a Bionicle, but nope, it was a couple boxes of candy. Sneaky.
Wish me luck on my new adventure!

Caught red (err yellow) handed!

Apparently, Emma thought our deck needed a little spicing up this past weekend. We can hardly get mad at her for trying to paint the deck..... the can of yellow spray paint must have looked very inviting to her just laying out in the yard. For that we have the boys to thank! Even though nobody would ever claim the responsibility. They had paint out to paint on pieces of scrap boards they made into "pod racers". I'm sure in Emma's mind the deck was ok to paint because it too is made of wood.

"I gave Anna some KoolAid." said Emma. I was a little worried when she told me this because both girls were in the school room. I asked her where the KoolAid was and she pointed to the closet of the school room. She just kept insisting she gave Anna "just a little" KoolAid. So I told her to bring the KoolAid to me. .......She brought an ink stamp pad. Good thing Anna only got a little KoolAid on her cheek and nowhere else.

Ave Maria

So here is Emma saying the Hail Mary in Latin. Yes, she did just turn 3 just 2 months ago. LOL she wanted a picture of her saying it to put on the blog.

Ave Maria,

gratia plena,

Dominus tecum:

benedicta tu in mulieribus,

et benedictus fructus ventris tui Jesus.

Santa Maria,

Mater Dei,

ora pro nobis peccatoribus,

nunc et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen

She only messed up the very last line of it. For that she went to bed without supper. lol Kidding!!

I think kids are way smarter than they have us believing.

Anyway, enjoy the video. I'm sure Emma will remind me daily to replay it for her.

Tomahawk + MY Kids = Scary?? or Supper??

Alex hit the target!!

The kids went to a Stockade Days event...or something like that, with grandma and grandpa about a month or 2 back. While there they got to try their hand at throwing a tomahawk. They enjoyed it so much grandpa (handy guy that he is ) made a log target to put in our yard. Now they can practice (yea, they really need the practice...maybe grandpa wants to come and practice with them too...lol) right here anytime they want. Well, not anytime, we aren't dumb enough to let them throw a tomahawk unsupervised. The really good thing is, my kids will be prepared for any kind of emergency where we would have to hunt for our own food.

More scaring. Joseph leaned "Bobby Bully" the Karate practice dummy up against the door of the bathroom so as Elizabeth opened up the door it would fall in and hopefully scare her. He succeeded, although the picture was a split second too soon. The picture shows her while she's still processing the situation. I just hope she doesn't go try something like this at school tomorrow.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The kids did not go to school today. It was a late start for them and they had dental check-ups also, so we just didn't bother sending them for 2 hours. It takes longer then that to drop them off and pick them up. All the check-ups went fine, except, when Matthew got done with his turn and he was waiting for Elizabeth to get done with her turn, they said Matthew needs two teeth pulled. (Brent just had his wisdom teeth pulled a couple weeks ago and he was pretty much out for a day and a half, so this is going through Matthew's head) Matthew needed two baby teeth pulled because they were in the way of his permanent teeth that were trying to come through. So needless to say Matthew was quite nervous about going right back in to see the dentist. But he got some Novocaine and some laughing gas and lickity split those teeth were out, and he was a trooper. Way to go Matthew!
My Beautiful Princesses
The girls had their pictures taken at the Sears Portrait Studio today. Aren't they the most precious girls you've ever seen?!?! Ok they do have a few girls cousins that are just as cute. In case you missed it there are more pictures to the right. Some of them are a little stretched out. You can still see how beautiful they are though.
Attack of the killer BEE
Poor Emma was outside this afternoon minding her own buzzziness when along comes a psycho killer bee. I was inside with Anna and prodding the boys to get their homework done, and we heard Emma screaming like one of her siblings looked at her funny, err I mean like maybe she fell and busted her head open. Alex ran out to check, comes right back in and grabs a scissors (yes a scissors!) and as he's running back outside yells "Emma's got a bee stuck in her hair!" So I'm right behind Alex to witness the haircut. "Yikes" I thought. We get out and sure enough a bee was caught in her hair. It was still able to fly, but only about 2 inches away from her head and in a circle as far as her hair would let it go. It was at the upper corner of her face and it was able to sting her right on her eyebrow near her nose. If you enlarge the picture maybe you can see the spot on her eyebrow, looks like a lighter circle. Oh, yes Alex did cut it out of her hair, but thankfully nobody will be able to tell where it was cut. She came in and wanted an ice pack on it. Then she said "Mommy, I feel bad 'bout my eyebrow. That bee box elder bug stinged me. I want grandma to come and see my eyebrow." Five minutes later "I feel better 'bout my eyebrow now."
These past couple months has been awful with the bees, box elder bugs, those little tiny biting black bugs, and now the black moths (even in the daytime). Can it get any worse??.......
